Beta Participation Terms - Business OS
These Beta Participation Terms govern participation in the Beta phase of the Business OS between Laurence Zimmermann EI, micro-entrepreneur, and the individuals taking part in it.

For the purposes of these Beta Participation Terms, the terms “Business OS”, “system”, “Business OS v0.1”, “Business OS v1.0”, “OS” refer to a digital product, and more specifically to an operational system created by Laurence Zimmermann EI, and designed for use on the Notion platform.
1. Nature of the Beta Phase
The Business OS Beta v0.1 is provided to participants as part of a free testing phase. The Business OS is for internal use only (Article 4).
The Business OS is available in English only.
Participation does not constitute a commercial sale, paid subscription, or service contract.
The purpose of this phase is to test the system under real usage conditions and gather feedback prior to the official release of Version 1.0.
The beta phase is expected to last approximately 2 months, although it may be modified, suspended, or discontinued depending on the needs related to the product, its operation, or its evolution.
1.1 Time Zone
All dates and times communicated by Laurence Zimmermann EI in connection with the beta are, unless otherwise specified, based on the Paris time zone (CET/CEST).
2. Participation Conditions
Beginners and experienced professionals can register.
Community and email communications will be conducted in English only. By participating, you confirm you are comfortable communicating in English.
As the Business OS is entirely in English (including the guides), a good understanding of English is required.
By registering via an online form, you agree to receive Beta-related communications by email. You agree to provide accurate contact information. You may unsubscribe at any time.
You may eventually be asked to provide your first name and email address through a form made available in the private Discord group in order to identify participants and grant access to Business OS Beta v0.1. Participants eligible for version 1.0 may later be asked to complete a separate form and provide their first name and the email address used at registration in order to match their information and the relevant email communications.
Laurence Zimmermann EI may remove a participant from the Beta phase in cases of misuse or behavior inconsistent with its objectives.
2.1 Beta Phase Access and Waiting List
Access to the beta under these Terms is limited to 50 participants and is granted on a first-come, first-served basis through the private Discord beta group. This means that only the first 50 people admitted to the private beta group on Discord will receive access to Business OS Beta v0.1.
In addition, 4 earlier beta participants registered via the FractalMax Agency website (www.fractalmax.agency) under the conditions initially applicable at that time. Those participants remain subject to those initial conditions, which will be respected by Laurence Zimmermann EI. The private Discord beta group is also used as the distribution channel for providing them with the beta version of Business OS and for delivering version 1.0, but they are not counted among the 50 participants admitted under the present Terms through registration on fractalmax.com.
Accordingly, the launch phase can include up to 54 participants in total: 4 earlier participants subject to the FractalMax terms on fractalmax.agency, and 50 participants admitted under the present Terms through registration on fractalmax.com.
Laurence Zimmermann EI may close, pause, modify, or end the beta phase at any time, including before all 50 Discord beta spots are filled, if sufficient feedback has been collected, if participation is lower than expected, if the beta takes longer than expected, or for any other legitimate operational, product, or business reason. The beta phase is expected to last approximately 2 months.
Once all 50 Discord beta spots have been filled, individuals who signed up by email but are not among the first 50 participants to join the private Discord beta group will remain on the email list, which will then serve as a waiting list for any additional beta spots that Laurence Zimmermann EI may decide to open.
Being on the email list or receiving a beta-related email does not guarantee access to one of the 50 Discord beta spots and to Business OS Beta v0.1 once all spots have been filled.
Laurence Zimmermann EI may, at its sole discretion, open a new beta phase in the future, without being required to do so.
2.2 System Setup
The Business OS Beta Version is provided as an operational system built on the Notion platform.
Access to the beta may be provided through one or more designated channels communicated to participants by Laurence Zimmermann EI, including email, the private Discord beta group, or any other designated access channel.
The link and/or instructions to duplicate or install Business OS into the participant’s own Notion workspace may be provided through any such channel, including within the private Discord beta group. Details will be provided prior to or at the start of the beta phase.
To participate, you must have an active Notion account (the free plan is sufficient).
To use the system, you must duplicate it into your own Notion workspace using Notion’s built-in “Duplicate” function.
Once duplicated, the system operates independently within your workspace.
The system must be kept in a private Notion workspace. You agree not to enable public sharing or grant access to any third party. Any exception for direct team members working within the same business may only be granted with prior written authorization from Laurence Zimmermann EI and, if authorized, only by private email invitation within Notion.
2.3 Personal Access Link and Limited Internal Use
Any Notion link, duplication link, installation link, access link, or related instruction provided to a participant in connection with the Business OS Beta Version is strictly personal and confidential and must not be shared, forwarded, posted, published, distributed, sublicensed, or otherwise made available to any third party, whether publicly or privately.
Once the Business OS Beta Version has been duplicated into the participant’s own private Notion workspace, the participant may not grant access to any third party. Any exception for direct team members working within the same business is subject exclusively to Section 2.4.
Any sharing, use, or distribution outside the participant’s own authorized use is strictly prohibited. Any breach may result in immediate removal from the Beta phase, loss of Beta access, and loss of any related Beta benefits.
Access to the Business OS Beta is personal, non-transferable, and reserved for invited participants. Laurence Zimmermann EI reserves the right to refuse, limit, or remove access at any time if these conditions are not respected.
2.4 Requests for Team Access
Any request to allow access to the duplicated Business OS Beta Version to direct team members working within the same business must be submitted in advance by email to Laurence Zimmermann EI and may only be granted with prior written authorization. Any such access, if authorized, must be granted exclusively by private email invitation within Notion. Public sharing, publication of the template, or any other public or open access method is strictly prohibited. In the absence of such prior written authorization, no team access is permitted.
3. Participation During the Beta Phase
The Beta phase is an active testing phase intended to evaluate Business OS under real usage conditions and collect feedback prior to the official release of Version 1.0.
Participants are invited to use the system in the course of their normal business activity and to share honest, constructive, and specific feedback based on actual use.
Feedback is shared through the private Discord Beta group, which serves as the main communication and feedback space during the Beta phase. Additional feedback channels may be offered during the Beta phase at Laurence Zimmermann EI’s discretion.
Participation is voluntary. You may stop participating at any time.
3.1 Beta Limitations, No Reliance & Third Party Platforms
The Business OS Beta Version is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis and may contain bugs, errors, interruptions, or changes.
Participants agree not to rely on the Beta version for mission-critical or time-sensitive activities and remain solely responsible for their own backups, data, and business decisions.
The Business OS Beta Version is built on the Notion platform. The Beta phase may involve third-party tools (such as Discord and X) for feedback and communication. These services are governed by their own terms and policies. Laurence Zimmermann EI shall not be held liable for issues arising from their availability, performance, changes, or acts or omissions.
4. Permitted Use & Restrictions
The Business OS is for internal use only for your professional activity.
The pages “Portfolio” (once set up) and “Client Portal (Template)” (once duplicated and set up) may be prepared and configured during the beta phase, but must not be shared or made public (including with clients) until the beta phase has ended, unless prior written authorization is granted by Laurence Zimmermann EI.
No automatic update or migration is provided from the beta version to Version 1. Where applicable, it is your responsibility to transfer your data manually.
If the name of the “Portfolio” page or the “Client Portal (Template)” page changes during the beta phase, participants will be informed.
Provisions relating to intellectual property and the license of use are defined in Article 5.
5. Intellectual Property & License of Use
The Business OS (including frameworks such as CI–BO, methodology, content, and system design) is the exclusive intellectual property of Laurence Zimmermann EI.
Beta participation grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the system for your own internal business operations only.
It is not permitted to:
Copy, reproduce, extract, publish, share, resell, license, or redistribute the system (in whole or in part)
Provide access to third parties or allow any third party to use the system (in whole or in part), except as expressly authorized under Section 2.4.
Create, distribute, or commercialize derivative works or competing products based on the system’s structure, logic, or content
6. Use of the Notion Platform
The Business OS is built for use within the Notion platform.
Notion’s software, features, infrastructure, and services are the exclusive property of Notion Labs, Inc.
Business OS is an independent system created by Laurence Zimmermann EI. It is not an official Notion product and is neither managed nor endorsed by Notion.
Participants are responsible for maintaining their own Notion account and complying with Notion’s terms of service.
7. Feedback & Improvement Rights
By participating in the Beta phase, you can submit feedback, including comments, suggestions, bug reports, and improvement ideas (“Feedback”). You retain ownership of what you write.
You grant Laurence Zimmermann EI a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license, for the duration of the applicable rights, to use, reproduce, adapt, and integrate your Feedback for the purpose of operating, improving, and developing the Business OS (including future versions).
No compensation is due for any Feedback, and Laurence Zimmermann EI is not obligated to implement it. Feedback is treated as non-confidential.
8. Restrictions on Public Sharing During the Beta
Public testimonials and recommendations may be shared if properly disclosed in accordance with these Terms. However, private details from the beta, including bugs, issues, unfinished features, screenshots, recordings, internal discussions, feedback, or other behind-the-scenes information, must not be shared publicly without prior written permission from Laurence Zimmermann.
8.1 Public Testimonials and Disclosures
8.2 Testimonials and Consent for Promotional Reuse
Providing a testimonial, review, recommendation, or comment is entirely optional and is not a requirement for participating in the beta.
A beta participant may share a testimonial, review, recommendation, endorsement, or comment with Laurence Zimmermann EI either voluntarily on their own initiative or in response to a request made by Laurence Zimmermann EI, including through a form, email, direct message, or any other written channel.
The private sharing or submission of such content does not by itself authorize Laurence Zimmermann EI to publish, reproduce, or use that content for promotional or marketing purposes.
Laurence Zimmermann EI may only publish or reuse such content for promotional or marketing purposes where the beta participant has given clear prior express consent, including by selecting a form checkbox, replying by email, sending a direct message, or providing any other clear written or electronic confirmation.
Where such consent is given, the content may be displayed with the participant’s first name only, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
9. Confidentiality & Community Conduct
To protect the Beta phase environment, participants agree to:
Be respectful and constructive in your interactions.
Respect privacy and confidentiality: do not publicly share private Discord group content (or any other communication platform used), other participants’ messages, or any system files/screenshots that reveal the product structure.
Use the Beta in good faith and for its intended purpose.
Disruptive behavior, misuse, harassment, or violation of these rules may result in removal from the Beta phase (including removal from the Discord group and Beta communications), at the discretion of Laurence Zimmermann EI.
10. No Guarantees
This is a beta release and may contain bugs, errors, incomplete features, or access issues.
No guarantees are made regarding results of any kind, including business performance, income outcomes, productivity improvements, or suitability for a particular purpose.
Results depend on your individual implementation and your specific context. You remain solely responsible for your use of the Beta Version and for any decisions you make based on it.
The Business OS is an organizational and productivity system. It does not constitute an accounting tool, financial tool, or legal, tax, or regulatory advice.
The time tracking database (time log) is provided for organizational purposes only. It does not constitute an official time tracking tool, invoicing system, or regulatory compliance mechanism.
It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with all legal, tax, accounting, social, and regulatory obligations applicable to your business activity.
11. System Evolution
During the Beta phase:
The system may change and evolve.
Structures may be modified.
Elements may be added, removed, or replaced.
Access conditions may be adjusted.
This is normal for an active testing phase, and the Business OS version 1.0 release may differ from the Beta version.
12. Business OS Version 1.0 Eligibility
The first 4 beta participants registered through the FractalMax Agency website (www.fractalmax.agency) under the conditions that were initially applicable at that time, which remain fully valid for them and will be respected by Laurence Zimmermann EI.
For participants registered under these terms, free access to version 1.0 is reserved for beta participants who join the private beta Discord group and share at least one relevant piece of feedback during the beta phase.
Meaningful feedback includes specific observations, questions, or suggestions based on actual use of Business OS. General reactions alone do not qualify.
This offer applies to version 1.0 only. It does not include any later versions or updates, nor any add-ons, extensions, templates, services, live programs, or separate products, unless explicitly stated in writing by Laurence Zimmermann EI.
Version 1.0 will be provided via a new Notion link. It will not automatically update inside your workspace. To use version 1.0, you will need to duplicate the new version into your Notion workspace, and you may need to manually migrate or import your data from the Beta version.
This offer is personal and non-transferable, and is conditional on continued compliance with these Beta Participation Terms.
12.1 Use of the Beta Version After the End of the Beta Phase
Unless otherwise notified by Laurence Zimmermann EI, participants may continue to use the duplicated Business OS Beta Version after the end of the Beta phase. However, the Beta Version may remain incomplete and does not include any right to maintenance, support, corrections, future versions, improvements, or commercial releases unless expressly stated otherwise by Laurence Zimmermann EI.
13. Data & Privacy (GDPR)
To manage the Beta phase, Laurence Zimmermann EI may collect and process limited information such as:
Contact details (first name and email address)
Feedback you share (including Discord messages and related inputs)
This information is used to:
Provide the Beta and communicate related information
Manage Beta participation
Improve the Business OS based on feedback
Data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws (GDPR).
You are responsible for ensuring that any personal data you input or process using the Business OS complies with applicable data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR where applicable, as well as any other requirements in your country or jurisdiction.
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection by contacting Laurence Zimmermann EI. Further details are available in the Privacy Policy.

14. Reference to General Terms
Participation in the Beta phase is also subject to the General Terms of the FractalMax website: Terms of Use
By submitting the Beta registration form, participants acknowledge that they have read and accepted these terms.
If there is a conflict between the General Terms and these Beta Participation Terms, these Beta Participation Terms prevail for anything specific to the Beta phase.
15. Eligibility
Participation is reserved for individuals who are 18+ and legally able to accept these terms.
To participate, you must operate as a self-employed professional, entrepreneur, or business owner, be either a beginner or experienced, and have an active Notion account.
16. Applicable Law & Jurisdiction
These Beta Participation Terms are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first seek an amicable resolution.
If no agreement can be reached, the dispute will fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris.
17. Language
The Beta Participation Terms – Business OS are available in French and in English. The English version is provided for convenience only. In the event of any inconsistency or contradiction between the two versions, the French version shall prevail.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
19. Changes to These Terms
Laurence Zimmermann EI, may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to the beta phase, the system, or legal and/or operational requirements.
If the changes are significant, Laurence Zimmermann EI, will notify participants in advance. If you do not agree, you may stop participating at any time. Continued participation after the effective date indicates acceptance.
